Charles Leclerc took a surprising pole place on the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, together with his title bid struggling an enormous blow after Lando Norris was eradicated within the first quarter.
Norris, who began Sunday’s race in seventeenth place, backed off after operating off the observe and was eradicated within the first stage of qualifying after showing to be hampered by a yellow flag.
The one saving grace was that championship chief Max Verstappen certified in sixth place as he was crushed by Pink Bull team-mate Sergio Perez for the primary time in 16 months. Defeated in dramatic qualifying.

Franco Colapinto certified third in his second F1 qualifying session, with Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso forward of him. Williams team-mate Alex Albon completed tenth. Williams left a fan within the automobile as he left the storage and Albon failed to finish the ultimate lap.
