5 years in the past in California, a pet donkey that escaped its proprietor was discovered “residing its finest life” with a herd of untamed elk.
Terry and Dave Drury of Auburn are satisfied the animal photographed by a hiker in early June was their pet Diesel.
The couple mentioned they had been relieved the animal was secure and determined to let it roam free with its new household as a “wild donkey.”
In 2019, Diesel was climbing with Mr. Drury close to Clear Lake, California, when he received startled and took off.
Weeks of searches by volunteers yielded no outcomes, and path digicam footage months later was the final time he was seen.

The donkey was noticed by hiker Max Fennell earlier this month, who described the animal as “joyful and wholesome” and posted his video on social media.

The elk herd was a number of miles from the place Diesel first disappeared, and there have been no wild donkeys within the space.

After Diesel disappeared, the Drurys adopted a brand new donkey and had no plans to attempt to seize their lacking pet.
